Interior Demolition
Huntington runs from the harbor villages on the North Shore down to the office parks of Melville. That means older homes with details worth keeping, large suburban homes due for an overhaul, and commercial space that turns over. We handle the interior demolition for all of it, a short drive north of our Deer Park shop.
Keeping the character?
Call NowFrom Village Colonials to Melville Office Floors
In Huntington Village, Northport, Cold Spring Harbor, and Centerport, a lot of houses are older: colonials, Victorians, and early 20th-century homes with plaster walls, original trim, and old floors. Renovations there are usually selective. The owner wants the kitchen opened up or a bathroom redone, but the staircase, the moldings, and the hardwood stay.
Further south, in Dix Hills, Melville, Commack, and Greenlawn, homes are often larger and newer, and full interior gut-outs are more common: whole floors taken back to the studs for a complete redesign. And along Route 110 in Melville, office space turns over regularly, with suites stripped back for the next tenant's build-out.
Whatever the building, a foreman runs every job, protection goes up before anything comes out, and debris leaves in a driveway-safe trailer, or through licensed carters on commercial work.
What Huntington Projects Call For
Older homes, bigger homes, and office suites each need a different approach.
Protecting Original Details
Older homes near the harbors often have millwork, built-ins, and floors worth saving. We demolish around them, not through them, and shield what stays before the work starts.
Plaster, Lath & Surprises
Plaster and lath walls are heavy, dusty, and hide decades of past repairs. We contain the dust, take the walls down in a controlled sequence, and flag old wiring, plumbing, or framing problems when we find them.
Large-Home Gut-Outs
Bigger homes in Dix Hills and Melville generate a lot of debris. We size and swap trailers so the tear-out keeps moving and the driveway stays untouched.
Town & Village Rules
The Town of Huntington has its own building department, and villages like Northport, Huntington Bay, and Lloyd Harbor have theirs. Some older neighborhoods are also historic districts. We'll flag what we know at the walk-through and work under your permit where one applies.
Keeping the Character, Changing the Layout?
Tell us what's coming out and what has to stay. We'll walk it and quote a clean, careful scope, usually within one business day.
Huntington Demolition FAQs
Which parts of Huntington do you serve?
The whole town: Huntington Village, Huntington Station, Northport, East Northport, Centerport, Cold Spring Harbor, Greenlawn, Dix Hills, Melville, Commack, and the villages along the harbor.
Can you remove a wall in an older home without damaging the trim and floors?
Yes, that's what selective demolition is for. We protect the floors, shield the trim and finishes that stay, and take out only what's coming out. If the wall is load-bearing, we'll flag it at the walk-through so support and approvals are in place first.
Do you work with general contractors on Melville office projects?
Yes. We work with GCs and property managers as the first trade, provide COIs on request, and work around the building's hours and access rules so the build-out can start on schedule.
