Call NowStripping Homes Back to a Clean Slate
Interior house demolition is the first phase of nearly every renovation, addition, or gut rehab — and it sets the tone for everything that follows. Done well, it's fast, controlled, and surgical: the materials that need to go come out cleanly, the framing and systems that stay are protected, and the next trade walks into a site that's ready to build on. Done poorly, it damages what should have been preserved and slows the whole project down.
We've been doing interior demolition across Long Island and NYC for over 30 years, and it's all we do. Whether you're taking a single floor down to the studs, opening up a dated layout, or gutting an entire house ahead of a full renovation, our crews work a planned sequence — finishes before framing, top-down within the work area, structure left untouched — with a competent foreman on site running the job from start to finish.
On residential jobs we drop a driveway-safe dump trailer right on site, so debris goes straight off your property without ever risking your driveway. One crew handles the tear-out and the haul-away, and we leave the space broom-clean and ready for your framers, plumbers, and electricians.

Projects That Start With an Interior Rip-Out
Interior house demolition is the launch point for most home renovation work. Here's when homeowners and GCs bring us in.
Whole-Home Gut Renovations
Taking a house back to the studs for a full renovation. We clear every interior finish efficiently, leave framing intact and protected, and position your renovation contractor to start on a clean slate.
Additions & Dormers
Opening up a home for an addition or dormer means removing existing walls, ceilings, and finishes at the tie-in. We prep the structure so your framers can start clean.
Opening Up Floor Plans
Removing non-structural partitions to create open-concept living. We identify what's load-bearing, coordinate with your contractor, and take out only what's meant to go.
Prepping a Home to Sell or Flip
Investors and homeowners gutting a property before a flip or sale. Fast, clean rip-outs that get the property to a blank canvas on a tight timeline.
Get Your Interior Demolition Quoted Fast
Tell us the scope — square footage, floors, and what's coming out — and we'll get you a clear, itemized estimate, usually within one business day.
Our Interior Demolition Process
A planned sequence that protects your home and keeps your renovation on schedule.
Walk-Through & Free Estimate
We walk the home with you or your GC and confirm exactly what comes out and what stays — load-bearing walls, systems, and finishes to preserve. You get a clear, itemized, no-obligation estimate, usually within one business day.
Protection & Setup
Before anything comes down, the foreman lays floor protection, sets dust barriers, and confirms utilities. On residential jobs we position a driveway-safe dump trailer right on site.
Controlled Tear-Out
The crew works finishes-before-framing and top-down, removing drywall, flooring, cabinetry, and fixtures while keeping structural members clean and intact. The foreman stays on site the entire time.
Haul-Away & Broom-Clean Handoff
We containerize and haul the debris, recycle where we can, and broom-sweep the space. Your renovation team walks into a clean, ready site — often the same day.
Interior House Demolition FAQs
How long does an interior gut take?
It depends on the size of the home and the scope, but most single-family interior gut-outs run a few days to about a week. A single room or floor is often a day or two. We'll give you a realistic timeline with your estimate — and we hit it, because demo is the first phase and a slip there delays everything.
Will you protect the parts of the house that stay?
Yes — that's the whole point of doing it right. Floor pads, wall protection, and dust barriers go up before the first wall comes down, and we work around the structure and systems you're keeping. A clean rip-out protects what stays as much as it removes what goes.
Do you handle the debris too?
Yes. One crew handles the tear-out and the haul-away, and on residential jobs we drop a driveway-safe dump trailer on site so debris goes straight off your property — without risking your driveway. We leave the space broom-clean.
Can you work directly with my contractor?
Absolutely — GCs are a big part of our business. We coordinate the scope and schedule with your contractor and hand off a clean slate so framing, plumbing, and electrical can start without delay. Ask us about setting up a trade account.
